Dr. Derek O’Brien, TBLS senior lecturer, has just been appointed member of the Project Advisory Board for a project entitled The Visible Crown: Queen Elizabeth II and the Caribbean, 1952 to the present.
The project, which is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council in the UK, has been awarded a grant of £1 million. The project brings together a research team based in the UK and at the University of West Indies, and from the disciplines of History, Oral History, Literature and the Political Sciences. Project partners include the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, University of West Indies Museum, National Caribbean Heritage Museum, the Historical Association.
